Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women (IGDTUW) is the new name of Indira Gandhi Institute of Technology is situated at Delhi. It got its new name on 2013, May by an Act of Delhi government (Act 9, 2012). Indira Gandhi Institute of Technology was established by Department of Training and Technical Education (Govt. of Delhi) in the year 1998. In May 2013 it got autonomous status. IGDTUW aim is to promote studies, research, technology, innovation, incubation and extension work in emerging areas of professional education among women, with focus on engineering, technology, applied sciences, management and its allied areas with the objective to achieve excellence in these and related fields. The objective of the University is to foster industry relevant research and innovations and empower the women of our country through value based higher education making them employable, self reliant, responsible citizen of the country with concern for environment and society.

Placement and Training:

The Training and Placement Cell facilitates the campus placement program at Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women, Delhi. The cell comprises of highly energetic and dynamic team of students and faculty members. The dedicated team is consistently striving to enhance the quality and quantity of the placements in the university. Various seminars are being organized on regular basis for the development of the students to improve their communication skills and their personality. During the recruitment drive many big names visited the campus. To name a few prestigious companies like Microsoft, Adobe, Cisco, SAP Labs, Oracle, Qualcomm, Mahindra & Mahindra, General Motors, Cognizant, Aricent, Tata Consultancy Services, Yamaha Motors, Hindustan Unilever, IBM India visit IGDTUW campus for placements and internships.

Admission criteria:

To take admission in Engineering branches students need to attend the counseling process. There are also some eligibility conditions to get admission into Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women, Delhi. A candidate need to secure 60% or more marks in the Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and must have passed English as a subject. There is 10% relaxation of marks in SC, ST and Disabled persons where OBC will get 5% relaxation in marks. Admission to B.Tech. Program is based on All India Rank prepared by CBSE based on performance of candidate in Paper-1 of JEE (Main) Examination and also the candidate must be declared eligible for Central Counseling by the CBSE. The admission to B.Tech. program will be done through Joint Admission Counseling. 85% of the total seats are reserved for candidate belonging to Delhi Region and 15% of the total seats for candidates belonging to outside Delhi Region.

Infrastructure:

Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women, Delhi has developed certain infrastructure in its campus. The facilities include Bank, Computer Center, Hostel Facilities for Girls, The Incubation Centre–Anveshan to promote entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial culture, IT Services, Learning Resource Centre which has rich collection of textbooks, journals and reference materials and Medical Facility.
