Sathyabama University formerly known as Sathyabama Engineering College was established in 1987 by Dr. Jeppiaar. It is a premier institute imparting knowledge in the areas of engineering, science, technology and education. The institution’s progress and contribution to the field of technical education for over two decades resulted in granting Deemed University status on 16th July, 2001 and University status on 13th September, 2006 by the Ministry of Human Resources Development, Government of India. The University has been awarded as Category “A” University by Ministry of Human Resources Development (MHRD), Government of India and accredited by NAAC and also certified with DNV- GL ISO 9001 standard. The University is offering exemplary education from last 29 years.
Sathyabama University offers 27 programmes at UG level and 41 programmes at PG level in all disciplines. The University has excellent infrastructure facilities including modern laboratories, library with multimedia facilities, internet and other general amenities. The University holds great promise to expand the applications of space technology, benefiting the common man and enriching the quality of life in association with Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO). University has written a special page in the history of space research on 22nd June, 2016 with the launch of “SATHYABAMASAT” in association with ISRO. Right from quality technical manpower to ethical needs, the expectations of the nation from us, we arrived to a position to deliver with consistence. Training and Placement Support:
The full-fledged Placement cell of Sathyabama University continuously monitors the employment opportunities available in various domains and arranges the campus interviews for the eligible students both at Under Graduate and Post Graduate level. As per the NASCOMM guidelines, the campus recruitment program commences after the end of Pre-Final semester examination. Training and opportunities are provided based on the interest and choice of the students. Once a candidate chooses between applying for IT companies or other Core companies, the right kind of exposure and training will be decided by the Placement Cell. Sathyabama University ensures that its students are proficient with the expectation of the industry. Many of Sathyabama University students have experience in working in R&D sector. Sathyabama University have created the environment which gives the students an opportunity to balance their academic commitments and co-curricular activities in order to exceed in both.
Sathyabama University have the State-of-the –art Placement Cell infrastructure which comprises of Auditorium, GD Panel rooms, Closed Interview Panels and Conference Hall. Admission Procedure:
The admission to B.E., B.Tech. and B.Arch. programmes is done solely on the basis of the performance in the All India B.E/B.Tech/B.Arch. Entrance Examination conducted by Sathyabama University. Online application option is available on Sathyabama University website. Application Forms and information brochures will be also available at the at the University Admission Office.
Eligibility Criteria:
FOR ALL B.E./B.Tech Programmes (Except Biotechnology, Bioinformatics and Biomedical)
A pass the 10th class or Equivalent Examination with a minimum aggregate of 60% marks or “6.0” CGPA.
A pass in the 10+2 / HSC / ICSE or equivalent examination with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry with an average of 60% marks and above (in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry).
Candidate opting for these programmes should appear for Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry in the entrance examination.
For B.Tech – Biotechnology, B.Tech – Bioinformatics and B.Tech – Biomedical Engineering:
A pass the 10th class or Equivalent Examination with a minimum aggregate of 60% marks or “6.0” CGPA
A pass in the 10+2 / HSC / ICSE or equivalent examination with Biology / Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry with an average of 60% marks and above.
Candidate opting for these programmes should appear for Mathematics or Biology, Physics and Chemistry in the entrance examination.
For B.Arch – Bachelor of Architecture:
A pass the 10th class or Equivalent Examination with a minimum aggregate of 60% marks or “6.0” CGPA
A pass in the 10+2 / HSC / ICSE or equivalent examination with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry with a minimum average of 60% marks (in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry) and a valid NATA marks (National Aptitude Test in Architecture) with an average of 80 marks out of 200.
Candidate opting for this programme should appear for Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry in the entrance examination.

Co-curricular and extracurricular activities are planned and executed through a number of associations, clubs, societies and students’ chapters of professional bodies. They are managed by representatives of students and are monitored by the faculty in-charge.
