On 2/10/1997 Gujarat Government bifurcated Valsad district in two districts – Valsad and Navsari. The newly formed Navsari district is situated on Arabian coastline at southern border of Gujarat state. Balwada is the nearest village of district situated between 20.35o to 21.05o north latitude and 72.43o to 73.35o east longitude. The geographical area of district is 2196 sq.k.m. The population of district is 12,29,250.(2001). The main headquarter of district Navsari, is included in city taluka. A part from Navsari (city) taluka, there are five more talukas. Tourist Places :
Janki Van is a planned forest developed by the Gujarat Social Forestry Department. Spread over 10 acres, Janki Van is all set to become the next-big-thing in the Gujarat tourism circuit. Located in the village of Bhinar near Vansda, the forest has been designed on the Ramayana theme.
Janki Van has 50,000 trees of different species, thus claiming the title of ‘tree library’ amongst the Surat visitors.
Vansda National Park :
Vansda National Park is a conserved wildlife area in Vansda region of Gujarat. Geographically, Vansda National Park is more closer to Waghai town, which is the entry point to Dang jungles.
I live in Vansda town, which is few minutes from Vansda National Park.
