Law School Admission Test 2016 (LSAT 2016):

                  Law School Admission Test (LSAT) is a national level Law entrance examination which is conducted to provide admission in various Law schools of India. In other words, it is a test conducted for the admission to the ABA approved or ABA non-approved Law schools and most Canadian Law schools and other important Law schools in the world. Thus, this can also be said as a national as well as international Law exam.

This exam is designed by testing professionals with advanced degrees in English, Linguistic, Logic and psychometrics and conducted by Law School Admission Council (LSAC) which is a USA based Law school. This is a standardized exam which tests the student’s verbal and reasoning ability.

Important points to note about the LSAT- India examination:

  1. This is paper and pen exam which consists of four sections
  2. LSAT 2016 will be conducted in 16 cities across India on May 15th
  3. Some of the top institutes that accepts the LSAT scores are Rajiv Gandhi School of Intellectual property Law, IIT Kharagpur Law school, UPES Dehradun, Amity Law school Gurgoan, Galgotia University Law school, The Jindal Global Law School, KLE Bangalore, etc.,
  4. The test centres can be at

  1. More than 50 Law colleges accept the score of LSAT.
  2. The total duration of the exam is 2 hours 20 minutes
  3. There are totally four sections and each section carries 25 marks
  4. The four sections are Analytical reasoning, logical reasoning part 1, logical reasoning part 2 and reading comprehension.
  5. This exam is scheduled to be conducted on May 15th
  6. The registration fee for the examination is Rs.3800/-.

Eligibility Criteria:

             The eligibility criteria for LSAT are

  1. Applicants must have cleared higher secondary education or equivalent examination from a recognized board to apply for this examination.
  2. Applicants must have scores at least 50% of aggregate in the Higher Secondary Education to be eligible for LSAT.
  3. There are no common eligibility criteria for all the Law institutions of India. Thus, students who are taking part in this exam must visit the official website of individual Law institution of India they wish to join to check their own admission process.
  4. There are about 61 Law institutions in India which supports LSAT LSAT scores are mandatory for getting admission in these colleges.

No negative marks applicable for wrong answers.

Please note that LSAT is an examination which completely tests the applicant’s critical thinking power. There are no questions covered based on the topics such as legal knowledge, mathematical skills, current affairs or grammar. It covers the questions only on critical thinking which are divided into four sections as Analytical reasoning, logical reasoning part 1 and part 2 and reading comprehension.

Important dates for LSAT 2016:

Online registration: 9th November 2015 to May 1st 2016

Registration through demand draft/ banker’s cheque: 9th November to April 28th 2016

Application form start date (online): April 28th 2016

End of the online application: May 1st 2016

Admit card available from: May 8th to May 14th 2016

LSAT Examination date: May 15th 2016

Result declaration: June 3rd 2016

How to apply?

           Lets us see the steps of applying LSAT exam:

  1. Applicants must visit the website https://lsat.formistry.com
  2. Register yourself with the website with all the personal details such as name, contact number, contact address, education details, etc.,
  3. After finishing the registration form you will be getting the LSAT registration number for India.
  4. This registration number is very important and it is needed while submitting the application forms to the LSAT supporting Law colleges of India.
  5. After the registration process, download the application form, fill it up and send it through post or courier to the following address:

  1. Applicants have to write their full name and registration number of LSAT at the back side of the application form before sending it.
  2. The application fees Rs.3800/- which can be paid either through demand draft/cheque or through net banking service.
  3. The registration fee will be accepted only through Visa or master card issued in India.

 

Admit card for LSAT 2016:

                 The applicants who have successfully registered for the LSAT examination are issued Admit card after checking their personal details and eligibility criteria. The admit card will be available for download for all the candidates whose registration is accepted. Each admit card consists of candidate identification number which is a unique number provided during the registration process. This is the candidate’s registration number. LSAT admit cards are scheduled to be available from May 8th 2016.

The admit card is a very important document that a student should bring before entering the examination hall. Thus, if there is any problem with the details mentioned in the admit card, you have to immediately raise a complaint to the Pearson VUE, Gurgoan for further clarification.

     The best way to crack LSAT 2016 is self study process. Try to learn as many things as possible from the reference books.

         As we all know, any competitive exam requires time management. Try to solve the questions within the specified time.

LSAT Counselling:

                     Since the results of LSAT 2016 has been planned to be declared on second week of June 2016, counselling dates will be announced after the release of the results.

Counselling of LSAT 2016 is conducted by the Person VUE is association with Law School Admission Council for the admission of various law courses such as 5 years integrated Law courses B.A.L.L.B, B.Com L.L.B and B.sc L.L.B.

LSAT scores are mandatory to get admission into LSAC associated Law colleges of India.

LSAT 2016 counselling process:
  1. On behalf of LSAC, Person VUE will send the scores of the successful candidates to the associated law colleges in India.
  2. However, all 61 Law schools which participated in the LSAT 2016 will be having separate admission process or separate counselling process.
  3. Thus, LSAT scores will be helpful only in attending the counselling session of the different Law colleges and successful admission is possible only according to the rules and regulations of each college.
  4. Counselling admission through LSAT 2016 will be valid only for that academic year.
