  2. Discuss the role of money in a modern capitalist economy.
  3. Elucidate the determinants of money supply.
  4. Briefly explain Fisher’s quantity theory of money.
  5. Bring out the instruments of credit control.
  6. Explain the weaknesses of the Indian capital market. Suggest measures for its improvement.
  7. Explain the main features of an investment policy of a commercial bank.

Answer any TWO questions in about 900 words each.                 (2 x 20 = 40 marks)

 

  1. Elaborate the role and functions of Reserve Bank of India.
  2. Explain the Keynesian integration of monetary and value theories.
  3. What are index numbers? Explain the various steps involved in the construction of Price Index Numbers.
  4. State and explain the various constituents of Indian money market and point out the main defects of Indian money market. Suggest suitable measures to remove them.
