10000 More Medical Seats with Govt. Funding

The country will add 10000 more under graduate medical seats in Govt medical colleges across India. With a total budget of 100 billion rupees the Central Govt will fund 70% to 90% of the cost and the balance to be shared by various state governments. The cabinet committee on economic affairs approved the health ministry’s proposal to upgrade infrastructure of medical colleges to increase the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) seats.
