Sports and clubs: Member, Roshanara Club, Delhi, Chelmsford Club, New Delhi, Cosmopolitan Club, Madras, National Sports club of India, National cricket Club, Calcutta, Boathouse Club, Nainital, Marylebone Cricket Club, Lords, London; Was specially made a member of this Club in the year 1936, when he captained the Indian Cricket Team that toured England, as a special, case, without having register his name and waiting for his turn; Has been subsequently made an honorary member of the Marylebone Cricket Club, Member, Surrey County Cricket Club, England; Has been President, U.P. Cricket Association, for over 20 years; Was President of the Andhra Cricket Association for six years; Was President of the Board of Control for Cricket in India for two consecutive terms—1954-55 and 1955-56; Represented India at the Imperial Cricket Conference, London, twice, in the years 1954 and 1958 and secured equality of status at that Conference for India, Pakistan and West Indies, which used to have only one vote each as against England, Australia, and South Africa, which had two votes each; Has been the Chief Cricket Commentator of the All India Radio in Test Matches from 1949; Was invited by the B.B.C. to give special commentaries and resumes during India’s tour of England in 1959; Brought out to India in 1932 the world famous opening pair—Jack (now Sir) Hobbs and Herbert Sutcliffe and toured the whole of India and Ceylon with his own Team known as the VIZIANAGRAM XI; Inflicted the only defeat in India on the M.C.C. Team led by Douglas Jardine, on his Vizianagram Palace Cricket ground, Banaras, in the year 1934; brought out to India the famous West Indies Cricket Learie (now Sir) Constantine to play for his side; trained many young cricketers who became famous as Test Cricketers; Awarded double Panch Rang at Tennis and Cricket at Prince’s Mayo College, Ajmer.
