Social activities:  Organising Beedi workers since 1952 and was responsible for enactment of Beedi Welfare Cess Funds through Parliament; instrumental for getting many Cooperative Banks for minorities and setting up of Educational Institutions like the Engineering College, Polytechnics, Industrial Training Institutes, High Schools, Junior Colleges and Arts & Science Colleges.

Favourite pastime and recreation:  Horse riding and playing-cards.

Special interests:  Upliftment of unorganised labour like Beedi workers and Trade Unions activities since 1952.

Sports and clubs:  Billiards; Member, Mysore Sports Club, Mysore.

Travels abroad:  U.K., Germany, France, Japan, Hong Kong, Saudi Arabia, Malayasia, Singapore and Pakistan.
