Social activities:  Was engaged in the boycott of British goods during the period 1932—36 and devoted himself to spinning work at various centres; worked for the prohibition of opium during 1938-39; joined Gandhiji’s Satyagraha Movement in 1940.

Hobbies:  Gardening.

Favourite pastime and recreation:  Reading newspapers and periodicals.
