Social activities:  Maintains a self spinning khadi Centre at Kumbharia, Monjuri P.O., District Balasore.  During the national festivities, sponsors inter-caste dinners; assists and organises all kinds of social reforms such as complete eradication of untouchability, widow marriage etc. Tries to enforce laws relating to anti-dowry, child-marriage, etc.

Hobby:  To mix with village people to know their thoughts, feelings, hopes, aspirations, joys and sorrows.

Favourite pastime and recreation:  Reading.

Special interest:  Development of Cottage Industries.

Sports:  Tennis, Badminton and Indoor games like cards, chess.
