Balbir Kaur, April 12, 1958; 3 s. and 2 d.; Agriculturist; Was arrested on September 1, 1977 for political reasons and kept in police lock up; arrested again on the eve of Smt. Indira Gandhi’s arrest and underwent one month’s imprisonment; General Secretary, District Congress Committee, 1970-74; panchayat Member, Mian Village, 1972-80; Sarpanch of the Village, 1974-75; Member, (i) Block Samiti, Jhannir, 1973-76, and (ii) Zila Parishad, 1975-77.

Social activities : Upgrading of schools and construction of Harijan Dharamsalas, link roads and Harijan colonies.

Favourite pastime and recreation : Solving the local problems of the-villagers and social service.

Special interests : Uplift of the poor, specially Harijans, farmers and small traders.
