Smt. Fatima Hussain Dalwai, May 7, 1950; 3 s. and 2 d.; Advocate, Supreme Court; Associated with Rashtriya Seva Dal and was itsardent worker during 1940-46; Active worker of Bombay Students’ Council, 1945-50; and active congress worker since 1952; Minister of Law, Government of Maharashtra, 1977-78; President, Nav Konkan Education Society, Chiplun; Chairman, Bharat Sevak Samaj, Maharashtra; Member, Maharashtra Legislative Assembly, 1962-78 Member, Rajya Sabha, April 1984 to January, 1985; Represented Indian National Congress at International Conference on ‘Socialism’ held in Yugoslavia, 1975.

Social activities:  Upliftment of the downtrodden and backward people of Konkan; Undertook the work of rural development like construction of roads by sharamdan; Constructed 200 houses for the destitute families affected by earthquake in Kenya with the help of Bharat Sewak Samaj; was instrumental in establishing 20 high schools in Ratnagiri District.

Favourite pastime and recreation:  Reading.
