S., B.A., LL.B, [Congress (I)—Andhra Pradesh, Hyderabad, 1980]  s. of Shri Kistiah; b. at Secunderabad, May 12, 1926; ed. at Mahbub College High School, Secunderabad, Nizam College Hyderabad, and Law College, Hyderabad; m. Smt. Lakshmi Devi, 1940; 3 s. and 2 d.; Advocate and Agriculturist; was associated with the ‘Quit India’ Movement in 1942; Courted imprisonment for a period of about 15 months during 1947-48; Member, Hyderabad State Congress Committee till 1956, and Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee since its inception; President, Secunderabad District Congress Committee, 1958-60; General-Secretary, Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee, 1977-78; Vice-President, Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee, 1978-79; headed a number of individual trade unions besides being the District Secretary of the Indian National Trade Union Congress and a Member of the State Executive of the I.N.T.U.C.; Member, Andhra Pradesh legislative Assembly, 1957-62, 1962-67 and 1967-72; General Secretary, Andhra Pradesh Legislature Congress Party 1957-58; Chairman, (i) Estimates Committee, 1966-67 and 1971-72 and (ii) Industries, Agriculture and Co-operation Sub-Committee of the Regional Committee; Member, (i) Public Accounts Committee, and (ii) Estimates Committee.  

Social activities:  Worked actively among students, youth organizations and the Congress Seva Dal, etc.; was an active Trade Union worker for several years.
