Literary, Artistic & Scientific Accomplishments Promotion of new techniques in agriculture, tree-plantation and fisheries, successfully counducted a three year pilot project of cage-Farming of fish which was sponsored by the Ford foundation, with the objective of the optimum use of large water bodies and also the equi-distribution of the natural wealth among the weaker and economically backward sections of society Social And Cultural Activities Setting-up of a village level organisation of youth to monitor rural development programmes and to work for social causes locally; provided guidance and worked with local NGOs towards conducting programmes for alternative income generation, enviroment friendly methods, especially for people living in the forest-fringe areas; enocuragement of local arts and handicrafts Special Interests Conservation of environment, forest, and wild-life; re-establishment of lakes and river systems of the area; monitoring of two migratory bird sanctuaries; rural development; and promotion of education Favourite Pastime and Recreation Reading, photography and travelling Sports and Clubs Adventure sports, aero-sports (paragliding and micro-lite flying) and water sports Countries Visited Bhutan, Japan, Nepal, Thailand and U.S.A.
