Smt. Mani Devi, 1930; 4 s. and 3 d.; Agriculturist and Social Worker; previously associated with Indian National Congress, K.M.P.P. and Socialist Party; participated in freedom movement in 1941 and 1942 and suffered imprisonment for 2 years; organised trade unions and was imprisoned several times; President and General Secretary of Hind Mazdoor Panchayat for several terms; Member, (i) U.P. Congress Committee, (ii) Executive Committee of INTUC, Uttar Pradesh Unit; General Secretary, All India Chemical Workers’ Federation, Uttar Pradesh Unit; Member, Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly, 1957-62.
