Shrimati Pyari Devi, March 21, 1954; 3 s. and 3 d.; Teacher, Agriculturist, Political and Social Worker; associated with Bhartiya Kranti Dal; undertook fast unto death in 1972 in protest against compulsory retirement of B.T.C. Teachers; imprisoned for 32 days for participating in Secondary Teachers’ Union movement, and from July 8 to October 30 during emergency; President, (i) Bhartiya Lok Dal, Varanasi District, (ii) Teachers Association, Cutting Memorial Inter College, Varanasi; Vice-President and President, Banaras Sahkari Daugdh Sangh Varanasi; Minister of State in the Ministry of Law, Justice and Company Affairs since August, 1977.

Social activities:  Led a team of B.T.C. trainees in the cleanliness drive in Harijan Colonies, upliftment of Harijans, plantation of trees in public places and repairing of minor roads.
