Chinthamani; November 29, 1962; 1 s. and 2 d.; Agriculturist, Political and Social Worker and Lawyer; previously associated with Congress Party from 1955 to 1962 and with Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam from 1962 to 1972; political prisoner in 1965, 1973 and 1975; Minister, in Tamil Nadu Government for (i) Agriculture and Irrigation, 1977-80, (ii) Rural Development and Local Administration, 1980-84 and (i) Chief Minister’s Nutritious Meal Programme and Highways, 1984-85; Member, Tamil Nadu legislative Assembly, 1977-80 and 1980-84.

Social activities: Associated with Bhoodan Movement.
