Shrimati  Mary  Thangammal , July  12,  1943;  6 s. and  1 d.;  Advocate;  served  in  the  Revenue  Department  of  Madras  State  from  1941 to  1948  and  later  as  Head  Clerk  in the  Sub-Magistrate’s Court;  resigned  from  service  in  1950  and  entered  the  legal  profession  in  1953;  was  President  of  the  Postal  and  Telephone  Exchange  Union, Tuticorin; President, Postal  and  Telephone  Exchange  Unions, Tirunelveli  District.

Social activities:  Vice-President of the Catholic Association, Tuticorin diocese; working for the amelioration of the Scheduled Castes amongst the Hindus and Christians.

Hobbies:  Gardening and poultry farming.

Favourite pastime and recreation:  Tennis. 

Special interests:  Helping the poor Harijan agriculturists in villages. 

Sports:  Tennis.
