About VELTECH University
Veltech Engineering College was born in 1997 under the Trust founded by the Educational-Philanthropic Personalities- Dr.R.Rangarajan and Dr. Sagunthala Rangarajan, the Founder President and Foundress respectively . The university has since grown persistently over the years impacting student lives under the able guidance and leadership of the founder couple.
Veltech University history speaks out loud the growth of the University over the years by the uncompromising vision, leadership and guidance of the founder couple and matured as the Best University in India u/s 3 of UGC Act, 1956 in 2008. Since then it has been sprawling its wings not only in horizontal and vertical but also in all dimensions. Presently the university has been marching towards its goal by achieving all-round excellence. With the highly professional services of our honourable Chancellor and the phenomenal guidance and meticulous execution of our Vice Chancellor and the able administration of the Registrar. A committed group of well qualified faculty members have also been striving hard to achieve the vision of the university through concurrent achievement of the mission.

Placement Support
The University Placement department offers placement assistance focusing on the overall development of the candidate. The department has coined multiple training programs to equip the students to be Industry ready, holding a futuristic multidisciplinary perspective of the real world job demands. This ability to draw insights from multiple referent disciplines to solve complex societal and business challenges has become the essential skill and ability to innovate and think creatively. The University follows outcome based education and innovative practices, focused on curriculum that deliberatively integrates skills and ideas such as project-based learning, internships with leading corporate and entrepreneurial thinking, multidisciplinary cross-disciplinary perspectives, and academic professional ethics. Placement Team is coordinated by the Placement Officer and six placement coordinators, the placement department is well equipped with GD and Interview rooms.
Industry Interaction
Placement department and DDD have interacted with more than 2700 industries and established about 201 active MOUs so as to create a deep connect with the industry which has a direct impact on placement. Inputs on Curriculum by the industry experts adds value to the system. Multiple value added course and special lab (Dassault Lab) training sessions have been introduced based on the industry expert’s feedback to train the students.

| This program is offered in 3+ 1 mode. First three years of the program is offered at Veltech DR.RR & Dr. SR university and last one year program at partner university in Germany. During the stay in Germany along with course work thesis and internship needs to be carried out at German university /company. Upon successful completion of the course requirements Veltech Dr.RR & Dr. SR University offers BTech degree and respective German partner university will offer B.S. degree. Admission criteria:
The Educational Pedagogy of the University imbibes CDIO framework in the curriculum, that broadens the student’s knowledge and imparts awareness in their areas of Engineering. The undergraduate curriculum at Veltech Dr.RR & Dr.SR University allows considerable flexibility through CBCS (Choice Based Credit System).
VELTECH Research Park:
To initiate and execute joint R&D between Industry & University and to further facilitate the Industries to interact with the HR of the University, Vel Tech has created a research park within its campus with a total capacity to accommodate 80 Laboratories. 17 labs were occupied with different funded research projects, Joint Centers of Excellence with Dassault System, France & National Instruments, USA and Industry funded facilities. Research Funding: The University has been funded with over INR 15.49 Crores by various Government funding agencies like DST, DRDO, GITA (Indo Taiwan) etc., and Private Industries for various Research Projects. Research projects are also supported by the sponsoring Trust internally. So far 26 projects worth Rs.1.73 crores have been funded by the sponsoring Trust besides investing on infrastructures like Research Park, Engine Test Facility and Centres of excellence in various fields. Also, the University has been funded with INR 1.01 Crores by DST, DRDO, CSIR, DAE etc. for organizing various National and International events.
