In the following figure, ABC and AMP are two right triangles, right angled at B and M respectively, prove that:
(i) ∆ABC ∼ ∆AMP
(ii) CA/PA = BC/MP
Answer:
In ∆ABC and ∆AMP,
∠ABC = ∠AMP (Each 90°)
∠A = ∠A (Common)
∴ ∆ABC ∼ ∆AMP (By AA similarity criterion)
⇒ CA/PA = BC/MP (Corresponding sides of similar triangles are proportional)
