AGRA: A man and his aide were sentenced rigorous life imprisonment by Agra court for murdering his wife.
Rajeev Agrawal and his aide Santosh were found guilty by the court of additional district judge XII, Shakeel Ur Rehman Khan on the charges of IPC section 302 (murder) and 201 (Causing disappearance of evidence of offence)
On March 14, 2014, Rajeev Agrawal who was living separately from his wife Seema Agrawal, brutally murdered her at his rented accommodation in Lashkarpur area of New Agra police jurisdiction.
Speaking to TOI, additional district government counsel, Shashi Sharma said, “The horrific murder was witnessed by Rajeev’s two children Saurab (back then he was 12) and Shruti (back then she was six). In court trial, the two witness identified Rajeev as the killer of their mother.”
“The motive behind murder was a loan Rs 80,000, which deceased Seema had given to her brother Rajesh Agrawal. When Rajeev came to know about the loan amount, he started pressurising Rajesh and Seema to return the money. When Rajesh failed to pay the amount on time, Rajeev murdered his wife. Prior to murder, the couple were living separately. On the day of murder, Rajeev had called Seema at his home,” added ADGC.
