KOLKATA: A light early morning shower may hit Kolkata on Monday. But it will pave the way for a temperature drop over the next 24 hours, said the Met office. Kolkata recorded a minimum temperature of 15.7 degrees Celsius on Sunday which was two notches below normal.
With the northwesterly wind returning after a brief lull, the mercury is set to slide to 13-14 degrees by Tuesday, according to Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC) director G K Das. “But since we are in the second half of January, the northwesterly is unlikely to be stinging and could make the mercury drop by a couple of degrees,” added Das.
It is a patch of cloud from a western disturbance over Uttar Pradesh that is likely to leave the city on Monday morning. “A circulation has been formed but it is not a strong one is unlikely to have a strong impact on her weather in Kolkata,” said Das.
