BHUBANESWAR: As many as 16 police personnel from Odisha will get Police Medal for Gallantry (PMG) on the occasion of the Republic Day on Sunday for contribution to their respective fields.
They are sub inspectors Gagan Bihari Nayak and Rajendra Choudhury, Havildar Krushnalok Behera and Sukhi Ram Rana, commandos Genesh Dharua, Rabindra Kumar Parmanik, Padmanav Ray and Madan Mohan Padhan, CTs Murali Manohar Dash, Maheswar Dhakad, Manohar Bhumia, Siba Prasad Nayak, Bhabani Shankar Patli, Arjuna Chandra Kurami, Binay Kumar Mishra and Rajesh Kumar Dewan.
Two officers additional director general of police, RP Koche, and Manoranjan Samal, sub-inspector at vigilance directorate, Cuttack, will receive the President’s Police Medal (PPM) for distinguished service.
But no police officer from Odisha has received the President’s police medal for gallantry this year.
Besides, 11 police personnel will get Police Medal for meritorious service. They are- Biswanath Mishra, additional superintendent of police, Jagatsinghpur, commandant Balakrushna Nanda, Crime Branch DSP Bikash Ranjan Behura, Vigilance DSP Susanta Kumar Biswal, Crime Branch police inspector Ashis Kumar Mishra, Vigilance sub inspector Dibakar Samantasinghar, ASI Bhubaneswar Santanu Kumar Dash, Vigilance ASI Pranab Kumar Nayak, Rayagada Havildar Chittaranjan Ratha, Balasore constable Narendra Kumar Rout and Vigilance constable SK Dawood.
