Hon’ble Mr. Justice Raj Mohan Singh
His Lordship was born on 18th of August 1962 at Bhiwani in a well known Rajput family. Great great grandfather of his Lordship Sardar Bahadur, Capt. Umda Singh was a Member of Victorian Order (MVO) and was Aid-De-Camp (ADC) to King of United Kingdom Edward VII during his time. Later he remained Hony. Magistrate of Tehsil Bhiwani. Great grandfather of his Lordship, Rai Bahadur, Hony. Lt.Sukhpal Singh was a recipient of ‘Indian Defence Services Medal’ (IDSM) and was Administrator of Bhaji State (H.P.). The family of his Lordship had an inclination towards Armed Forces and the family is full of persons having Army and BSF decorations. However, his Lordship’s father Sh. Mahender Pal Singh was the only exception, who served in the Haryana Roadways and retired as a Traffic Manager in the year 1986.
His Lordship completed his primary and secondary education from Bhiwani and joined LL.B. in the year 1982 at Kurukshetra University. After completing LL.B., his Lordship joined the profession at Punjab and Haryana High Court under the able guidance of his uncle/ fufa jiSh.Surinder Singh Rathore, who later became a judge of this Hon’ble Court.
His Lordship had a very diversified practice having good number of civil, criminal, service, labour law cases and cases relating to land laws arising out of miscellaneous local laws of Punjab and Haryana.
His Lordship got married in the year 1989 and is blessed with a son and a daughter.
During his career as a lawyer, his Lordship was elected thrice as a Member of Bar Council of Punjab and Haryana (Term from 2002-2014). He also remained Hony. Secretary of Bar Council of Punjab and Haryana from 2004 to 2005. Before elevation as Additional Judge of this Hon’ble Court, his Lordship was holding the position of Member Bar Council of India (BCI), representing the States of Punjab, Haryana and U.T.Chandigarh in the Bar Council of India.
His Lordship was elevated to the bench on 25th September, 2014.
