Farmers to get income as paddy stubble would be sold
MANSA: Helping farmers of 12 villages ensure zero burning of paddy stubble, the district administration Mansa has rolled out project of providing balers to these villages for easily making paddy stubble bundles and selling the same to give farmers income from farm waste.
Deputy Commissioner Mansa Apneet Riyait said while interacting with the sarpanches, lambardars and youth clubs of these 12 villages of Mansa. With this around 10530 acres of land in district is expected to have zero stubble burning.
These villages include Bhai Desa, Burj Dhilwan, Gharangna, Ramditte wala, Khiwa Khurd, Maujo Kalan, Khiwa Miyan Singh Wala , Chak Alisher, Jhanda Khurd, Chachohar, Khiwi Chehlanwali and Khaira Khurd.
She says that nodal officers have been deputed for each village that will be daily reporting area covered under harvesting with balers and total area left. Villages have been provided phone numbers of respective nodal officers for better cooperation.
ADC (development) Gurmeet Singh Sidhu, Chief Agriculture Officer Gurmail Singh, assistant director youth services Raghbir Singh Mann, Sandeep Singh from Nehru Yuva Kendra, Tejpal Singh General manager, agriculture development officers and others were also present.
