Jalandhar: In its ongoing drive against vector-borne diseases in the city, the anti-larva cell of the health department detected 22 dengue larva cases in various areas of the city on Friday.
Separate teams of anti-larva cell led by Gurwinder Singh, Vijay Kumar, Dharam Raj, Balwinderjeet, Pradeep Kumar, Bhupinder Singh, Tilak Raj, Sanjiv Kumar, Amanpreet, Sukhjinder Singh, Raj Kumar, Rajwinder Singh and others conducted the inspections in New Dashmesh Nagar, Anand Nagar, Jaswant Nagar, Garden Colony, Partap Nagar and others.
The teams visited 519 houses covered the population of 2334 and checked 82 desert coolers and 587 waste containers.
The members of teams apprised the residents that the desert coolers, containers could act as a breeding ground for the mosquitoes to spread diseases like dengue, malaria, and others. They said that the drive was aimed at identifying vulnerable places for producing the larva of mosquitoes.
