Bathinda: Dubbing the financial package announced by the BJP led Central Government as ‘Mungerilal ke Sapne’, Punjab Finance Minister Manpreet Singh Badal said that the BJP government remained ignorant to oppressive realities of the country. He visited the Mahina Chowk Bazaar and New Cloth Market here today to listen the grievances of the traders.

Interacting with the shopkeepers, Badal said that the central government’s package was not Rs. 20 lakh crore as it claimed by the Narendra Modi Government, but actually it was less than Rs. 1.83 lakh crore. Describing the package just a fiction, he said that it was good for daydreaming and grabbing headlines but in reality it would serve nothing to the small traders, farmers and other sections of the society distressed due to COVID-19 lockdown.

People of Punjab will definitely tide over  this difficult situation with their strong will power, he said, adding that Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh led Punjab Government launched “Mission Fateh” to instill the spirit of ‘Chardi Kala’ and Victory in the people of state.

Badal said that it was a good for the economy of the state that our farmers had earned Rs. 26,000 crore from wheat, Rs. 4,000 crore from potatoes and Rs 1000 crore from Kinnows during last 5 month and this Rs. 31000 crore is enough to boost our economy during this worldwide slowdown.

Assuring the shopkeepers and traders for every possible help, Badal said that Punjab government was taking firm steps to help them out from this crisis. The lockdown restrictions would be further reduced in coming days, however, our responsibility would be increased in continuing to follow the guidelines and instructions of the health department to keep the virus under check. “With our determination, it is certain that economic growth and prosperity will surely return to our country,” he said.
