Odisha topped in release of fund under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak

NAKODAR The total release of fund was Rs. 15650.28 crores in India under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) during 2017-18 (as on 20.3.2018). The top 5 States/Union Territories (TUs) with respect to fund released under PMGSY during 2017-18 (as on 20.3.2018) were Odisha, Jammu and Kashmir, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh and Jharkhand.

Fund released for Odisha under PMGSY was Rs. 2147.8 crores during 2017-18 (as on 20.3.2018), up by 11.54% against Rs. 1925.67 crores during 2016-17. Odisha accounted 13.72% of the total fund released under PMGSY in India during 2017-18 (as on 20.3.2018) the  Ministry of Rural Development informed the Rajya Sabha in written reply which has been posted on website data.gov.in.

 

It said that we have observed growth of 85.28% in release of fund for Jammu and Kashmir under PMGSY from Rs. 755.61 crores during 2016-17 to Rs. 1400 crores during 2017-18 (as on 20.3.2018). Jammu and Kashmir accounted 8.95% of the total fund released under PMGSY in India during 2017-18 (as on 20.3.2018). Fund released for Bihar was Rs. 2958.34 crores under PMGSY during 2016-17. It has decreased by -54.39% to Rs. 1349.31 crores during 2017-18 (as on 20.3.2018) versus during 2016-17. Bihar accounted 8.62% of the total fund released under PMGSY in India during 2017-18 (as on 20.3.2018).

Release of fund under PMGSY was Rs. 1294.63 crores for Madhya Pradesh and Rs. 1122.26 crores for Jharkhand during 2017-18 (as on 20.3.2018). We have seen growth of -34.6% and 36.93% in release of fund for Madhya Pradesh and Jharkhand respectively during 2017-18 (as on 20.3.2018) above 2016-17.
