Passport Seva Kendra to resume functioning from Tuesday May 26

RPO exhorts people to follow social distancing norms while visiting the PSK

 JALANDHAR: The Regional Passport Officer Jalandhar Raj Kumar Bali today said that in order to facilitate the general public the Government of India has decided to resume the functioning of Passport Seva Kendra (PSK Jalandhar-I) in Eminent Mall, Near Guru Nanak Mission Chowk from Tuesday (May 26).

Divulging the details, the Regional Passport Officer said that the PSK would resume its functioning from May 26 (Tuesday) with its 50% appointments in normal category. Likewise, he said that for enquiry purpose 50% online enquiry appointments have also been released for Passport Main Office adding that Tatkal and PCC applications were still suspended till further orders. Bali said that Passport Seva Kendra (PSK Hoshiarpur) was already functioning since May 6.

The Regional Passport Officer advised the applicants to adhere to social distancing norms while visiting the PSKs. He said that the applicants must wear a mask, carry sanitizer, download and install “Aarogya Setu” App and follow the government’s social distancing norms at Passport Seva Kendras (PSKs) & Passport Main Office during the visit.  Bali said that minor applicants below the age of 10 year and senior citizens were advised to visit Passport Seva Kendras and Passport Main Office only in extreme circumstances where it was necessary.

The Regional Passport Officer further said that Passport applicants who wish to visit the Passport main office for status of their already submitted/pending applications were also advised to come with the prior online enquiry appointments only.  He said that no walk-in applicant would be entertained for the purpose.
