FARIDKOT: Darshan Singh Dhilwan, member Zila Parishad and chairman social justice committee Faridkot criticized BJP led government at the centre for the sharp rise of the prices of commodities for daily use.
“The poor have suffered a lot,” he said.
“During the BJP rule since 2014, the prices of the essential commodities have been on constant rise and affordability of the common man has failed to buy the daily use commodities. Earlier, the BJP would criticize Congress-led rule at the centre when the world-famous economist Dr Manmohan Singh was the prime minister, who had made all-round development of the country. But now, when the BJP is ruling the country, even the prices of Onions had touched Rs 100 per kg and economic growth of the country is all-time low,” he said.
He said that the demonetization and GST had pushed small traders out of their small scale business and the government has also failed to generate the job, as promised 2 crores by the BJP.
Dhilwan was addressing the gathering in his village economically backwards people protesting the rise of prices.
