Shrimati ParvatiDevi; 1 s. and 2 d.; was arrested during college days in connection wiith students’ movement; associated with students’ Congress, 1946-51; suffered imprisonment and was fined in 1953-54 in connection with the cane agitation in Bara Banki District; suffered imprisonment in connection with the movement for canal rates reduction and the movement for abolition of and revenue; Member, District Executive, P.S.P., 1952 onwards; Joint Secretary, P.S.P., 1952—54 and Socialist Party, Bara Banki District, 1955-56; now General Secretary, All India Samyukta Socialist Party; Member, U.P.
