Shri Arun Kumar Chanda, 1927, Widow; 2 s. and 2 d.; House-wife and Social Worker; was appointed Jail Visitor of the District Jail in 1931-32 being the first woman Jail Visitor in Assam; was Chairman, (i) Silchar School Board, (ii) Silchar District Social Welfare Advisory Board, (iii) N.E.F.
