Shrimati Girja Devi, June, 1928; 2 S. and 6 D.; Legal Practitioner upto 1930; Insurance Business upto 1952: Was jailed thrice for participation in freedom movement; Was dictator of 1940 and 1942 movements; Twice President, Distt. Congress Committee; Thrice General Secretary, Distt. Congress Committee; Vice-President, G.R. S. Inter College, Basti and its Acting Manager for some time; Member, Notified Areas, Basti; Member, Distt. Board, Basti; General Secretary, Kayastha Social Reform League; Member, State Legislature, 1947—62; Parliamentary Secretary, U.P. Government, 1952—62.

[Congress (I)—Uttar Pradesh, Domeriaganj, 1984]  s. of late Qazi Mohammad Bismillah Abbasi; b. at Bayara Village, Basti District, Uttar Pradesh, February 26, 1912; ed. at Government High School, Basti, Govt. High School, Unnao; Sentredeos College, Gorakhpur, Aligarh Muslim University, Arabic Collage, Delhi and Lucknow University; m. Smt. Shahida Khatoon, 1936; 1 s. and 4 d.; Agriculturist, Lawyer and Political and Soical Worker; was expelled from Aligarh Musilm University during 1937 for political activities; participated in freedom movement and underwent imprisonment in 1940 – 41; Minister of  State Government of Uttar Pradesh, 1971-74, except with a break of  few  months in 1974; President, District Congress Committee, Basti, 1956 – 68 and again from 1980 till date; Member, (i) Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee, 1946, till date and (ii) All India Congress Committee, 1962, till date; President, (i) Rafi Ahmad Kidwai Memorial Trust, Basti, till date and (ii) Nehru Literary Association, Lucknow; Member, Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly, 1962-74, except with a break of few months in 1974; Member, Seventh Lok Sabha, 1980-84; Attended World Peace Conference in Berlin, 1969; Attended Haj celebration as a Government of India delegate to Saudi Arabia in 1982.
