School Managing Committee; Participated in Salt Satyagraha and was jailed 4 times fvom 1930-33; Was in charge of Sevadal organisation in the district of Puri; Was convicted in 1943 under Defence of India Act for organising kisans; Was debarred from remaining in Bengal after Burge Murder Case, 1934, in Midnapur; Was leader of the All Orissa Students strike and Satyagraha in 1939; Was refused examination by the Patna Medical Examination Board on the eve of the Second World War, and was expelled from the Orissa Medical School, being first in a list of 43 students that were then driven from the educational Institutions due to their leadership in Students’ movements in India.
Social activities: Interested in the improvement of Harijans, spread of education, encouraging folk dances and establishing cottage industries in rural areas and organising labour.
Hobby: Picture collection and spinning.
Special interest: Classical Oriya and Sanskrit literature.
