Venkatachalam; b. at Gangaikondan Village, Virdhachalam Taluk, South Arcot District, April 7, 1945; ed. at Neyveli Lignite Corporation Boys’ High School, Neyveli, Annamalai University, New College, Madras, Chengulpattu Medical College, Chengalpattu Stanley Medical College, Madras, and Madras Medical College, Madras; unmarried; Medical Practitioner, sympathiser of Dravida Kazhagam and Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam; Junior Medical Officer (Class II), 1973-76, and Assistant Medical Officer—Physician (Class I), October 1976—December 1979, Neyveli Lignite Corporation (A Government of India Enterprise) Hospital, (meanwhile selected by the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission to the Tamil Nadu Medical Service—ranked as Assistant Surgeon, 1975); President, Thanthai Periyar Bronze Statue Erection and Centenary Celebration Committee, Neyveli 1979.

Publications : (i) Thesis (Dissertation) on “Cardio-Respiratory Manifestations of Rheumatoid Disease’—recognised and approved by Madras University, (ii) “Intra Thoracic Manifestations of Rheumatoid Arthritis— published in a reputed Medical Journal—‘Chest Diseases’, (iii) Oration delivered on “Diabetes Mellitus” on July 26, 1979, sponsored by the Institution of Engineers (India), Neyveli Sub-Centre and the Association of Engineers and Scientists of Neyveli (under Publication), (iv) Lecture delivered on “Psychiatric Disorders’ on September 6, 1979—sponsored by the Trained Nurses Association of India (Tamil Nadu Branch).
