Umanath Bhattacharyya, December 2, 1931; 1 s.; Teacher and Educationist.

Social activities: Organised camps under Bharat Sevak Samaj; participated in various organisations for upliftment of women.

Favourite pastime and recreation: Reading and writing.

Accomplishments in letters, literature, art and, science: Recipient of National Award for Teachers in 1978-79.

Publications: Bengali novel, contributing poems and articles in different magazines; translated French dramas into Bengali.
