ICAR – AIEEA examination for entry into Agricultural Universities under the control of Indian Council for Agricultural Research is going to be held on 12th April 2014 at 49 exam centres across India. This examination will be held offline (Pen and Paper Based) and candidates are to be provided with OMR sheets for answering the questions. There are two streams of examination i.e. Stream A and Stream B.

Stream A: Physics, Chemistry and Agriculture/Biology subjects

Stream B: Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects

Entranceindia provides model papers for both the streams of candidates. Each of our model papers covers 180 questions of 4 marks each. Candidates can appear Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology separately. For each correct option there shall be 4 marks and each incorrect option shall carry 1 negative mark. National Talent Scholarship would be available through the Agricultural University concerned, to every student admitted on ICAR seat at any Agricultural University, at
the rate of  1,000/- per month during the period of study provided the student:

(i) Joins an Agricultural University in a State outside his/her Domicile State.
(ii) Has not changed the University/subject allotted for any reason.
(iii) Has not been admitted against any vacant seat through waitlist option as per his/her request
(iv) Maintains good conduct and satisfactory academic performance (7.00 OGPA) throughout the period of study.
(v) Does not fail in any course/unit during the period of study.

  • Triggered primarily by professional and academic linkage with Agricultural Universities, Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), New Delhi has been able to foster a countrywide arrangement with the AUs to set aside 15% of their seats for Bachelor degree programmes to be admitted through ICAR’s All India Entrance Examination so as to reduce inbreeding, increase mobility among students, encourage national integration and infuse merit and uniform examination standards leading to improved overall quality of agricultural education.
  • Accordingly, ICAR conducts All India Entrance Examination for Admission (AIEEA) to Bachelor degree programmes in agriculture and allied subjects, other than veterinary sciences, at Agricultural  Universities on 15% of the University seats every year.
  • For NDRI, Karnal, an ICAR-Deemed-to-be-University, 100% seats are filled up through the above examination. National Talent Scholarships (NTS) are awarded based
  • on the AIEEA-UG examination to all those candidates who take admission outside their state of domicile.
  • Further, not more than 40% candidates from any one state are admitted in any agricultural university/ subject. ICAR’s 19th AIEEA-UG-2014 examination for the academic session 2014-15 will be conducted at 46 examination city centres spread all over the country, enabling participation of a large number of candidates seeking admission in Bachelor degree programmes in AUs in different disciplines. Candidates qualified for counseling will be considered for allocation of subject and the Agricultural University as per counseling procedure described hereinafter. There is no direct nomination for admission through ICAR in any Bachelor degree programme without qualifying in this examination.

 Age and Nationality
Indian Nationals of at least 17 years of age but not more than 23 years as on 31.08.2014 (i.e. must have been born between 01.09.1991 to 01.09.1997) are eligible to apply for the examination. No relaxation of age will be allowed to the candidates except for SC/ST/PC categories where upper age limit would be relaxable by 5 years.

 Qualifying Examination
(i) Candidate must have passed 10+2 Senior Secondary Examination of the Central Board of Secondary Education or any other examination within scope and standard found to be equivalent to the Senior Secondary Examination of an Indian Board/ University after a period of 12 years of study. The last two years of such 10+2 examination should have papers in Physics, Chemistry and any one of the subjects from Biology/ Mathematics/ Agriculture* /Home Science**. Besides, for admission in the Universities specifically located in non-Hindi speaking areas, candidate must have passed English as a core subject in 10+2 examination.

  •  Intermediate with Agriculture and having not studied Physics and Chemistry as separate subjects may also be eligible for admission in some SAUs in State of Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh.
  •  Intermediate with Agriculture would be eligible for admission in limited AUs.

(ii) (a) Candidate must have passed any one of the qualifying examinations enumerated above securing not less than 50% marks in aggregate for General, OBC and UPS
categories and 40% marks in aggregate for SC, ST and PC categories.
(b) Candidate having a compartment/ supplementary in any of the subjects will not be eligible unless proof of having cleared the examination with requisite percentage.
(iii) Candidate appearing in the qualifying examination enumerated above, can also apply but would be the conditions .
(iii) Candidates opting for Stream-A in the entrance examination should have passed 10+2 examination enumerated above necessarily with Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Agriculture/ Home Science subjects whereas those opting for Stream-B should have passed 10+2 examination necessarily with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects.

AIEEA UG Degree Programmes (ICAR)

Admission to 11 Bachelor degree programmes of four years duration in the subjects of: (i) Agriculture (ii) Horticulture (iii) Fisheries (iv) Forestry (v) Home Science (vi) Sericulture (vii) Biotechnology (viii) Agricultural Engineering (ix) Dairy Technology (x) Food Science and (xi) Agricultural Marketing & Cooperation etc. is available to Indian Nationals based on merit-rank in
ICAR’s All India Entrance Examination for Admission (AIEEA). For the purpose of Entrance Examination, above 11 degree programmes are categorized into two Streams viz.

Stream-A: Agriculture/Biology and

Stream-B: Mathematics.

The candidate has a right to exercise option only for one Stream at the time of submitting the application. The option once exercised cannot be changed subsequently.

The Last date:

The last date for the receipt of Applications in the office of “Controller of Examinations (Education), Room No. 216, ICAR, Krishi Anusandhan Bhavan-II, Pusa, New Delhi–110012″ for UG, PG and SRF (PGS) examinations is 07th Feb., 2014. However, for UG and PG candidates belonging to certain remote areas like NE Region, J&K, Lahaul & Spiti district and Pangi Sub-division of Chamba district of H. P., A&N Island and Lakshadweep, the last date for receipt of applications, both through offline and online mode (hard copy of the computer generated confirmation pages of application) will be 14th February, 2014

AIEEA Scheme of Examination:

The examination shall be conducted in one of the two subject streams namely ‘Stream-A’ comprising of Physics, Chemistry and
Agriculture/Biology subjects and ‘STREAM-B’ comprising of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects.

Questions for Physics and Chemistry subjects shall be common for both subject streams.

Paper for ‘Stream–A’ shall carry questions on Biology as well as Agriculture subject, out of which the candidate has to attempt/opt/choose only one subject, either Biology or Agriculture. ‘Stream–B’ paper carries questions on Mathematics subject.

AIEEA Question Paper:

AIEEA Question Paper will have 180 Multiple Choice type questions, each with four options, 60 questions in Physics, serially numbered from 1-60, 60 questions in Chemistry, numbering from 61-120 and 60 questions in Agriculture/Biology/Mathematics,  numbering from 121-180.

AIEEA Marking Scheme:

Marking Scheme: Each correctly answered question will earn four marks, with a maximum of 720 marks for the paper. For each incorrect answer one mark will be deducted from the total score. Question with no response indicated will not be awarded any mark and there will be no negative marking for that question. The candidates are advised not to attempt such questions in the OMR answer sheet, for which they are not sure of the correct answer. More than one answer indicated against a question will be deemed as incorrect answer and will invite negative marking.

AIEEA Question Paper Language:

Question paper for the examination shall be bilingual, i.e., in ENGLISH and HINDI. In case of any variation in English and Hindi versions of question(s), English version will be taken as final and correct version.
