He was Chairman of Bihar State Sunni Waqf Board and Bihar State Urdu Academy; started career as a journalist; Founder Editor, Chhatra, a Fortnightly tabloid in Hindi published from Patna, 1972-74; Editor, Yuvak Dhara, first a weekly tabloid and later a fortnightly magazine published from Patna from 1974 and later published form Delhi since 1982; Editor, Tanzeem Times, a monthly magazine in English published from New Delhi since 1986; Chief Editor, Sadakat Vani, a monthly magazine in Hindi published from Patna since 1988; Founder Editor, Rashtrawadi Sankalp, a weekly newspaper in Hindi published from Mumbai since 2001.
