High School, Unnao; Sentredeos College, Gorakhpur, Aligarh Muslim University, Arabic Collage, Delhi and Lucknow University; m. Smt. Shahida Khatoon, 1936; 1 s. and 4 d.; Agriculturist, Lawyer and Political and Soical Worker; was expelled from Aligarh Musilm University during 1937 for political activities; participated in freedom movement and underwent imprisonment in 1940 – 41; Minister of State Government of Uttar Pradesh, 1971-74, except with a break of few months in 1974; President, District Congress Committee, Basti, 1956 – 68 and again from 1980 till date; Member, (i) Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee, 1946, till date and (ii) All India Congress Committee, 1962, till date; President, (i) Rafi Ahmad Kidwai Memorial Trust, Basti, till date and (ii) Nehru Literary Association, Lucknow; Member, Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly, 1962-74, except with a break of few months in 1974; Member, Seventh Lok Sabha, 1980-84; Attended World Peace Conference in Berlin, 1969; Attended Haj celebration as a Government of India delegate to Saudi Arabia in 1982.
