Dr. Prema Sezhiyan, August 26, 1959; Journalist; Editor, ‘Namnadu’ (Daily) and ‘Manram’ (Weekly); courted imprisonment for political activities in 1948, 1958, 1962 and 1965; President, South Zone Insurance Employees’ Federation; Founder Secretary, Dravidian Students Federation, 1943-44; Member, (i) Madras University Senate, and (ii) Executive Committee of the Indian Council of World Affairs, Delhi; Member of the Board, Institute of Techno-Economic Studies, Madras; Member, (i) Third Lok Sabha, 1962—67, and (ii) Fourth Lok Sabha, 1967—70.
