  2. State the Fick’s law of diffusion.
  3. State the laws of refraction
  4. What is glycolysis?
  5. What are coupled reactions?
  6. Find the de Broglie wavelength of an electron with a kinetic energy of 100 eV.
  7. List different methods of detecting ultrasonic waves.
  8. The disintegration constant λ of a radioactive element is 0.00231 per day. Calculate its half- life and average life.
  9. What are radio isotopes? Give some examples.
  10. What are transducers? Give the different types of transducers.

  1. a) Define Osmotic pressure and state its laws. (5 marks)
  2. b) Deduce an expression for the elevation of the boiling point of a liquid by a non-volatile

substance dissolved in it.                                    (7.5 marks)

  2. With necessary block diagram, describe ultrasonic imaging technique.
  3. Write in detail about the energetics of beta decay.
  4. Give a detailed account on the pressure transducer.
