Hira Tewary, 1958; 3 s. and 2 d.; Teacher; presently Reader in the Department of English, Patna University; General Secretary, Patna University Teachers Association, 1976; Convener, Bihar State Intellectuals’ Forum, 1976; Member, Patna University Syndicate Senate, 1978; Member, Seventh Lok Sabha, 1980-84; presently Secretary Congress (I) Parliamentary Party.

Favourite pastime and recreation: Reading and lecturing.

Special interests:  International politics.

Publications:  ‘The Judgment’—a book on English literature; currently writing a book on the novels of ‘Ruth Prawa Jhabvalke’.
