Sala High School, Alleppey, St. Berchman’s College, Changanacherry and Maharaja’s College, Trivandrum; m. Smt. P. K. Kamalamma, April 5, 1949; 1 s. and 4 d.; Trade Union Worker; Vice President and Assistant Secretary, Indian National Trade Union Congress 1947-55; President and General Secretary, Kerala unit of the Indian National Trade Union Congress, 1948-62; President, Kerala National Plantation Workers’ Federation from 1952; Workers’ representative in several All India Committees and Conferences especially on Plantation; Member, Sixth Lok Sabha, 1977-79, and (i) Consultative Committee on Labour 1977-78, (ii) Consultative Committee on Planning 1978-79, (iii) Committee on Subordinate Legislation 1978-79; Represented Indian Workers at International Labour Organisation Committee meetings on Plantation held at Bandung (Indonesia) in 1950 and at Geneva in 1955, and International Labour Organisation Plantation Seminar at Kandy, Sri Lanka in 1974.
