Smt. Ramabai, June 12 1958; Advocate; participated in the Freedom Movement during college days in 1942; Chairman, (i) Urban Consumers Cooperative Society, Nandagadda, Karwar, (ii) Shivaji Education Society, Karwar; Vice-Chairman, District School Board, North Kanara, 1950; Director, Karwar Urban Cooperative Bank from 1958; Member, (i) Bombay Legislative Assembly. 1952-57, (ii) Karnataka Legislative Assembly, 1962-67, 1967-72 and 1972-77; Deputy Speaker, Karnataka Legislative Assembly, 1972; Chairman, Kali Project Submersion Area Rehabilitation Committee, Government of Karnataka (Report submitted in April 1975); presently Member, Rules Committee.

Social activities:  Associated, with the kisan and labour movement in the district.
