BHAGWAN DEV ACHARYA [Congress (I)—Rajasthan, Ajmer, 1980]  s. of Shri Gopal Das; b. at Bairani Village, Shahadapur Taluk, Nawabshah District, Sindh (now in Pakistan), February 23, 1935; ed. at Mohammad Ali Memorial High School, Beawar, Gurukul Vishwa vidyalaya, Vrindavan and Maharshi Dayanand Sanskrit Vishwavidyalaya, Tankara, Gujarat: m. Smt. Padma, February 8, 1974; 1 s. and 1 d.; Journalist and Writer; associated with the Congress from the beginning; jailed 12 times in connection with the Goa Liberation Movement; General Secretary, (i) Maharshi Dayanand Yogashram Society, from 1972, and (ii) Akhil Bharatiya Yoga Vijnan Parishad from 1976; Vice President, Gujarat Arya Pratinidhi Sabha, from 1971; Joint Secretary, Sarvadeshik Arya Pratinidhi Sabha, 1972-78; Acting President, Pichhada Warg Sewa Sangh, from 1976; President, Maharshi Dayanand Ashram, Tankara, for 7 years, 1961-68; Sanchalak, (i) Akhil Bharatiya Swami Shraddhananda Smarak Trust from 1976, (ii) Shraddhanand Sewa Sangh from 1976, and (iii) Arya Vir Dal, Bombay State, 1956-61; Sanyojak Mahatma Anand Swami Smarak Nidhi from 1977.

Publications:  Wrote more than 50 books, some of which (in Hindi) are : “Swatantrata ki Vedi par”, “Maharshi Dayanand”, “Ashtanga Yoga Prakash”, “Yoga aur Swasthya”, “Yoga se Roga Mukti”‘, “‘Roga Mukti Prakash”, “Yoga Purushon ke liye”, “Yoga Striyon ke liye”, “Yoga aur Sex”, “Arya Shahid”, “Sanskar Chsindrika”  etc.; Has also written books and articles in Gujarati as well as Sindhi; Editor, ‘Yoga Mandir’ (Monthly).  

Travels abroad:  Mauritius in 1973 and Kenya in 1977.
