(Hons.), S.S.P., (West Bengal-Asansol-1967):  s. of late Shri Dwarka Sen; b. at Faridpur (now in East Pakistan), January 23, 1901; unmarried; Trade Unionist; formerly associated with Congress and P.S.P,; was a detenue from 1942 to 1946; Editor of the English journal “Asian Worker'” for 10 years; Member, Central “Wage Board for the Coal Mining Industry; President, Hind Mazdoor Sabha; elected to West Bengal Legislative Assembly in 1946 and 1957.

Favourite pastime and recreation:  Heading of mystery novels.
