PANDA, SHRI DUTI KRUSHNA, B.A., LL.B. (Comm.) Orissa-Bhanjanagar—1971, Son of late Shri Gaurango Panda; b. on July 1, 1923; ed at Khallikote College, Berhampur and Ravenshaw College, Cuttack; m. Smt. Kishori Panda, 1945; 3 s. and 3 d. Advocate, took active part in the freedom struggle in 1943; organised student movement in Orissa against British Government; joined C.P.I., in 1947 and became Member of State Executive; went underground to avoid arrest and to organise the Kisans movement for abolition of Zamindari System in Orissa, 1947-49; imprisoned, 1949-51; organised and led the land occupation movement in Distt. Ganjam, Orissa and again imprisoned; President, ASKA Cooperative Sugar Industries Employees’ Union, Vice-President, (i) Aska Science College, Aska, Orissa and (ii) Co-ordination Committee, All Orissa Electricity Workers Union; Joint Secretary, All India Cane Growers Association; Member, (i) All India Council of Kisan Sabha, (ii) All India Peace Council, (iii) Indo-Soviet Cultural Society, Orissa; Vice-President, The Aska Science College; Chairman, Control Commission, C.P.I., Orissa.
