IMBICHIBAVA, SHRI E. K.  [C.P.I (M)—Kerala, Calicut,1980]  s. of Shri Abdulla; b. at Ponnani Village, Malappuram District, July 20, 1917; Under Matriculate; m. Smt. Fathima, 1956; 4 s. and 1 d.: Social and Political Worker; previously associated with Indian National Congress, 1936-37, Congress Socialist Party, 1937-39 and undivided Communist Party of India 1939-64; during the British regime arrested and detained in 1940, 1942 and 1947; during the Emergency detained under MISA for about twenty months, 1975-77; Minister of Transport in the State of Kerala, 1967-69: President, Industrial Society and Member of 4 other Societies; Member, Kerala Legislative Assembly; Member (i) Rajya Sabha, 1952—54 and (ii) Third Lok Sabha, 1962-67.  

Social activities:  Trade-Unionism.  

Publications:  One of the Directors of Deshabiman Press, Calicut.  

Travels abroad:  U.A.E., Qatar, Oman, Bahrain, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia.
