Padmavati Devi, April 22, 1950; Industrialist; Follow of the Zoological Society, London; previously associated with Congress (O); Member, (i) I.U.C.N., Morges, and (ii) Indian Board of Wild Life; was Chairman, of the Baroda Rayon Corporation; Director, Bank, of Baroda and Chairman and Director of several other Public and Private Companies; Trustee of the World Wild Life Fund; President, Board of Control for Cricket, 1963—66; Chairman, Board of Governors of the National Institute of Sports, Patiala, 1962-63; Member, Gujarat State Legislative Assembly, 1967—71; Minister of Health including Family Planning, Fisheries and Jails in the State Government, 1967—71; Member, (i) Second Lok Sabha, 1957—62, (ii) Third Lok Sabha, 1962—67, (iii) Fifth Lok Sabha, 1971—77; Parliamentary Secretary to Defence Minister, 1957—62; attended many Conferences abroad on Family Planning, Environmental Future, etc. including 2nd International Conference on Environmental Future organised by United Nations in Iceland in 1977.
