Smt. Chawladevi; 2 s. and 1 d.; Agriculturist; previously associated with Congress (O); Secretary, H. E. School; Chairman, District Board; Member, N.A.C. Jehanabad; Member, Bihar Legislative Assembly, 1969—72 and  1972—74; resigned membership in support of Andolan led by Shri Jayaprakash Narayan; was Minister of State, Government of Bihar, 1970.

Social activities:  Founded a middle and a high school in Mandil Village, Jehanabad and a college in Jehanabad, Gaya.

Special interests:  Public sector.
